Started by Lynn Olver in 1999, the Food Timeline provides citations and short histories of food practices and traditions from the origins of human civilization to the present day.

Feminism, Food, and the American Table
This is a chronology I began compiling (using Knightlab’s timeline tool) to show a range of feminist attitudes toward kitchens and cooking in 20th century America. WordPress-hosted sites do not permit iframes, so I am unable to embed the timeline as I wished to do, but clicking through should allow you to browse a few examples of cookbooks, manifestos, artworks, and novels set in chronological order. It’s far from a comprehensive collection, but is intended to show the variety and complexity of women’s relationships to domestic labor as their expectations for work and family changed during this decade.
